I was born in Paris, but I grew up in east Africa. My earliest memory of my artistic journey begins on a sunny afternoon in the tropics, under the cool shade of a tree, where watercolours and the sound of a paintbrush scratching on paper blended with the sound of the rustling leaves of the canopy above me.

 

I grew up constantly surrounded by nature and animals, and it naturally made me curious about the natural world and its wonders. Everything to do with fauna and flora intrigued me, and painting and sketching slowly crept into my life in the form of oil pastels, sketchbooks, watercolour paints, and paintbrushes on my birthdays; or safaris and outings in African ecosystems. When I turned twelve years old, I attended proper visual arts classes in high school.

 

My parents have a farm in Uganda, and during my wandering to be a part of the natural world, a natural curiosity for the natural world was nurtured. By using art to create how I view the natural world, I have found a style that best represents who I am. The combination of my upbringing and visual arts classes gave me the passion and the skills that helped me find my artistic style.
